Again, nothing to do with photography, but I did say when I first started this blog, that I ‘d be letting off steam or discussing issues that are important, to me anyway!
So, we’ve all heard that everything we see in our lives is created by ourselves. Whatever we have, has been created by ourselves. Now, before anyone gets hot under the collar about that, take a few deep breaths, think about this, and go away for a few hours or days. I know this is a kinda deep subject to get your minds around, so it’s best to break it up into little bits so you can begin to digest it over time!
I too failed to understand all this for years and years. Then, just a few years ago, I read another few books about this subject which finally got my brain to somehow comprehend what this means.
By thinking what had happened in my own life, it gradually dawned on me that indeed, yes, we do create our own realities, to an extent. Life being life, everything’s still not clear-cut as it should be…there are still 1001 questions, but some of it does make sense now.
I looked at all the things I’ve wanted in my life, the common sense ones (not things like trying to make friends with that sexy blonde across the street….or winning the lottery….but again, who’s to say that these things also cannot be had if you set your mind to it….), and realised that whatever I have wanted, wanted badly enough, has indeed manifested itself in my life.
Of course, it has taken a little time….these things take time to manifest, nothing is instant. And during that time, I’ve usually forgotten how much I wanted such and such a thing, so that when I did get it, I wasn’t that surprised! It’s only when I sat down and thought it through, that it finally made sense.
As an example…I wanted to become a writer…I wanted to move back to Vancouver, BC….I wanted to have plenty of free time….I wanted to succeed as a property consultant….all of these, plus many, many more I used to think about daily, have come true!
But with all of these, there is one absolute magical ingredient that I did, and you know what that was? I WROTE about those things in my journal, at least once or more times a week. The things I didn’t write about, didn’t happen! Now for me, this is real magic!
Extrapolate this to your life, and you begin to see that indeed what we see, think and more importantly write down, is what the Universe, God, Nature, Providence or whatever you want to call it, manifests for us, right in front of our very eyes.
Whether we have the “eyes” to realise or see that, is another matter!
And just in case any of you are wondering if I’ve suddenly become a religious nut or something…no, rest assured, I haven’t. Religions have their place, but we follow them for ourselves, and as long as we do that, it’s fine. When we start pushing our beliefs onto everyone else, that’s when the trouble starts!
So, what’s the moral here? Well, let’s think about what we want or need very carefully. then, when we are sure we really do want something, then set the plan in action…think about it daily….cut out photos of it and paste them in a book or journal where you’ll see them daily….and write about it as often as possible. Then, with time, it will be there, right in front of you.Trust me.

To quote someone I heard recently saying,
“You are exactly where you want to be, whether you beleive it or not. Its always been your choice”.
I get this entirely.
glad you agree…!
