Didn’t get much done today….all hell seems to have broken loose with the weather here in London today…since morning, it’s been rain, wind, more rain, wind….
Sat around and watched an old school TV film called Carry on Screaming, that my dad recorded probably decades ago on VHS video…(yes, he still uses VHS!). Anyways, a hilarious film, with the usual characters common to Carry-On films. That’s where I got the idea of the title for this article!
Anyways guys (and gals!)..just came across some very interesting findings regarding 16mm film for these cameras. I normally don’t make a habit of downgrading anybody here…that would not be gentlemanly as they say….but where the circumstances of my readers are at stake, then I think it’s only right to sound the warning sirens. We all know that 16mm film is only supplied by specialist companies and almost all of them, as far as I know, are reputable people. But there’s apparently a supplier based in the USA called Al Doyle, who trades as SubTimes on that big auction site whose name I will not give publicity to…but you know which one…;)
In short, Al is a crook, so please, please DO NOT buy your films from him…you will only regret it later! I’ll be posting more info on here about the most reliable sources later……meantime, here’s the link to more info about this guy……http://www.subclub.org/news/news75.htm

yes, i do use digital as well, but only as a ready-reckoner...i try and take most shots with my simple 2megapixel digicam....if the shot looks good, i pull out my film camera and shoot!
i most defintely do not believe in digital manipulation of photographs....that in my eyes is not photography...its cheating!

i used to live in Ontario, Canada, but moved back to the UK a little while ago (its a long story..!)...but now i'm living in the one place i always wanted to be...Vancouver, BC..the next best thing to paradise on earth!
as i work as a freelance writer as well as other things, i often find hat my work takes me to europe for short spells, so i get to travel a lot...not a blessing, as i just hate long flights!
im a qualified Quality Assurance guy (you know...ISO 9000, auditing, documentation etc) ....99% of my skill-set is transferable so i can handle any admin or documentation-related roles....see you in BC! otherwise, i specialise in ISO 9000 auditing and documentation.
my dream? to have my own thriving camera shop in Vancouver BC, whilst living in the mountains somewhere.....the best of both worlds!
