Apparently, the sales director at the world’s top selling film still in business, has just announced that they have been shocked to hear of unexpected demand for black & white film, both 35mm and 120 roll film.
“We continue to be surprised at the number of requests we get for retro-style black & white film….Many are from digital users who now want the look and feel of real black & white negatives from a film negative…”, says the director!
That’s no surprise to us film users….we’ve been saying all along that even though digital is now at a very respectable level, it still cannot beat the thrill of taking shots with real film.
In order to cope with this unexpected demand, 2 disposable black & white film cameras have been released; each deliver 27 exposures….one version is loaded with Ilford XP2 film that needs C-41 processing, and the other version has HP5 Plus in it which requires the usual B&W chemistry for processing.
The brand new styled cameras both include flash, and a version is also available with process-paid option, a completely new and very very handy service….once you’ve finished shooting, just post the camera back using the envelope provided…print turnaround speed is 3 working days from the time it is received back….not bad at all.
35mm prints are returned to you on 6x4inch paper (or for an extra fee, 7x5inch paper). Your prints are delivered in a very smart and savvy presentation box, with your negatives sleeved in sets of four…very professional touch indeed.
There is also a choice to have your prints printed on glossy or pearl surface paper, and borderless or with a uniform white border all around…..you cannot complain at the lack of choices!
And even more…..you can also request for your film to be scanned onto CD if you wish, again for a small fee.
I am stocking these cameras right now…click here for price.
If you are based outside of the UK, and you’ve chosen the process-paid version, that’s no problem….getting your process-paid film processed will take a while longer that’s all…just ship it back to the UK to my colleagues there who will get it processed and shipped right back to you.
