I don’t know if I have mentioned here in passing about my love of drawing and painting?
It’s a kinda long story, but I first took up paintbrush and paint way back, almost 22 years ago now. At that time, through regular practice, I even produced some work good enough that was chosen to be shown in a local gallery in London.
But very soon after that, little was I to know that my painting journey was due to come to an abrupt end, as my wife was expecting our baby a few months later!
Well, the baby was born, and what a lovely bouncing boy he was, too. Very soon, we were both fully occupied running around looking after him, day and night, myself juggling a fulltime job plus carrying on with further studies at night school in my chosen field of electronics and signal transmission.
And of course what little time I had spare, was spent just chilling out, such was life then.
Before we knew it, that little boy was walking and crawling around, and when I did make a vain attempt at sitting down with my paints, he would crawl over and stick his tiny fingers in them.
Fast forward another 20 years, and that boy is in his mid 20s now, in his final year of a BSc! That is now a long time ago, and what skill I had managed to acquire has slipped out of my grasp somewhat.
So yesterday, after two decades, I finally sat down again with my paints, paper and brushes….heaven at last!
And I also decided to include art into this blog, as both photography and painting are concerned with capturing something we see with our eyes; one onto film or digital the other onto paper with paint.
My feeble attempts yesterday at water-colours are shown here…I only hope they get better with time!
