It’s one of those totally inexplicable things about how time changes everything, isn’t it?
We all change, our partners change, our surroundings change, everything changes. An old guy I met on my travels once told me… “nothing stays the same, everything changes….even the breath you have taken just a few seconds ago compared to the one you’re taking right now….is totally different…and even time itself changes every second…what time caused to happen yesterday is not the same time that is causing things to happen today. And tomorrow? It doesn’t exist…except in our minds!”
And to confuse me even more, he ended by saying…”what you or I will see tomorrow…is what we have created ourselves for us to see….that is why we are born here….we wanted to see things….so in order for us to see them…Nature, controlled by time, caused us to be born, so that we could physically see those things…and when we get tired of seeing things here…we die…because we think about that…and Nature senses it, causing time to set up our demise, whether it be by disease, accident or plain old age….”
Wow! I’m still utterly confused by those words…even now, more than 20 years later…although I have managed to see what he was hinting at!
Anyways, that’s deep enough for now! If you’re ever in my neck of the woods, Vancouver, BC to be precise, you’ll know where Robson and Granville streets are. This is what they looked like in the 1950s compared to now!
