If you’ve been following this blog, you’ll know that I covered an article recently about using that humble bulge in your pocket….no, not what you think!
I’m talking about your cellphone. Let’s face it, we will have at least one, and I know colleagues who have 2 or more, for whatever reason. Cellphones have become a necessary evil these days, and to prove how attached we all are to them, just try leaving yours at home when you’re out in town…you will very soon feel isolated and out of touch.
Myself, I am trying to carry it less and less these days, and to tell the truth, I find the release from being immediately contactable, so liberating. I can wander wherever I want to, without anyone asking me where I am or when I’ll be back or what I’m having for supper.
Anyways, getting back to that article about cellphone photography and it’s very popular add-on Instagram, I’ve had a horrendous amount of emails, the majority supporting it, and a few against. But what frightens me most is that so many readers are demanding digital photography information, that very soon I might be writing more about that, than what this blog was originally intended for, that is, film photography! However, you need not fear, brethren….as long as there’s breath in my body, i will continue to push film as real photography!
Also amongst those emails were many, many requests asking for samples of Instagram at work. Well, unfortunately, I may need to hold my head down in shame as I let you into one of my secrets…I don’t own an iPhone……(do I hear cries of Booo, shame, get outta here…!).
As I don’t own an iPhone, I cannot show you exactly what it is capable of doing, but hang on a minute, don’t leave the room, please.
I’ve done the next best thing, and that’s to download a similar package to Instagram onto my cellphone, and the results it has produced with some random shots I took just a few minutes ago are not too bad, and very similar to those that Instagram produces.
Here they are for your delight…hope you like them, and if you do, let me know…I may just do some more for you:
