If you’ve been following my few recent posts about writing journals etc, you will have read that aside of making your own, you can buy ready-made notebook journals….there are so many types and styles, the mind boggles.
In the end, it’s down to personal preference. Amongst all these types, there’s one which has been running for many years, and it’s the Moleskine range.
I won’t go into their history or what’s available, as it’s a very large company and writing articles about them would give them an unfair advantage over smaller makers….these guys already have a huge marketing policy anyway.
But what caught my eye recently was news about how even journal makers are succumbing to the mad technological rush, by offering an app that you can download onto your cellphone and “write” your notes into it! Can you believe it?
By doing that, what was once a relaxing pursuit, a pastime that allowed us to slow down, get out of the rat race for a few minutes and write down our thoughts with pen in hand and on real paper, is now being relegated to the dustbin.
I know lots of people are using their cellphones as notebooks or diaries, but please hear me out….it’s just not the same thing as writing things down in a notebook, the old fashioned way.
Typing keys or inputting your notes by touchpad on a cellphone, tablet or laptop is NOT the same thing, period.
I for one have never used anything other than proper notebooks or diaries, to write my thoughts or muses. And I feel really relaxed and content when I’ve done that. Somehow, typing into a laptop or cellphone does nothing for me!
