Call me a nostalgic bum!
having been brought up in England way back many years ago, I still hanker for what we used to see in those days.
hearing the sound of a milk float in the early mornings, the sound of the milkman leaving bottles of milk on the doorstep, bobbies (policemen) on every street, people’s front doors left open without worry of thieves, Ford Anglias, Prefects, Ford Corsairs, Cortinas, Zephyrs, Austin Mini Clubmans….all these cars and a 1000 others, walking into Woolworth’s stores before Xmas, marvelling at simple things like battery operated toys, and the aisles full of so many things in the store, not a sign of a Walkman, cellphone, LCD tv….
So it was with delight that I flipped through an old vintage photo book I found in a bookshop recently…..it shows adverts from those days (notice the prices….£ s d, pounds shillings and pence, or LSD (!) as it was called, which I’ve posted here for you…hope you like them:
