Oh dear! I’m selling my Ricoh GRD III…..

You know how it is…when the time comes to let something go that you love dearly?

That’s the feeling I have today as I offer my favorite digicam for sale. It’s a Ricoh GRD III, one of the very best digital cameras I have ever had the good fortune to own.

This is one of the cameras used by the man we have been talking about here recently, Daido Moriyama!

Why am I selling it? If you know me by now, you probably guessed the reason…..yep, I have my eyes on a particular large format camera that I saw some days ago!

So, without further delay, click here to see it…..I hope it goes to a good home where it’s full potential can be realised…..

About filmcamera999

ME & MY PASSION! ok, you probably looked at the length of this "about me" page and thought, god, what's wrong with this guy!....does he have to start telling us his life story or something!!? well, youve come here now anyways, so why not hear what im like as a person, eh? ive been using film cameras for well over 30 years...my first one being the family yashicamat twin lens! over the years, ive both bought sold and collected film cameras...too many to tell the truth! in fact, ive been buying and selling cameras well before the internet came on the scene, so anything you purchase from me is backed by my self-styled moneyback promise.....if you dont like what youve bought, send it back within 14 days and you get all your money back...no arguments!! WHERE I STAND ON THE DIGITAL REVOLUTION! yes, i do use digital as well, but only as a ready-reckoner...i try and take most shots with my simple 2megapixel digicam....if the shot looks good, i pull out my film camera and shoot! i most defintely do not believe in digital manipulation of photographs....that in my eyes is not photography...its cheating! WHERE I USED TO LIVE, WHERE I AM NOW & WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO DO! i used to live in Ontario, Canada, but moved back to the UK a little while ago (its a long story..!)...but now i'm living in the one place i always wanted to be...Vancouver, BC..the next best thing to paradise on earth! as i work as a freelance writer as well as other things, i often find hat my work takes me to europe for short spells, so i get to travel a lot...not a blessing, as i just hate long flights! im a qualified Quality Assurance guy (you know...ISO 9000, auditing, documentation etc) ....99% of my skill-set is transferable so i can handle any admin or documentation-related roles....see you in BC! otherwise, i specialise in ISO 9000 auditing and documentation. my dream? to have my own thriving camera shop in Vancouver BC, whilst living in the mountains somewhere.....the best of both worlds!

  1. funny how “it” changed to “she”! :-)

  2. yes, indeed, marina!
i was wondering how you managed to change “it” to a “she”…?
but there again, you may be right, for i took care of “her” like i would a beautiful woman…LOL

  3. hehe…you ladies know everything….sometimes i wonder how many more senses you guys have compared to us men…LOL!

  4. Well, they say you’ve got the brains and we got the senses …or something like that! :-)

  5. no, no, no…..in this case, im pretty sure you have a lot more brains than us..just look at the quality of work you are producing…while we men play around with silly paper aeroplanes…;)

  6. Don’t tell anyone but I also enjoy playing around with other types of silly aeroplanes too!!!! As for brains… don’t buy that feminist stuff!! ;-)

  7. oh, god…youre not one of those anti-feminist movement types are you, marina!

  8. ;-) Actually I’m anti-isms in general! :-)

  9. ok…thats good..we can all breathe a sigh of relief then!

  10. Thought you’d laugh at the news that my embargo to FB crumbled only a few hours ago!!! So now I can watch that flight!!! :-)

  11. well…all i can say is for you to watch out, marina…FB is very addictive, but in my view, useless….i mean, who wants to tell everyone what he/she had for dinner the other day….or what their neighbor is doing…thats what i see most peeps doing on the FB pages! and the way FB is going, its almost becoming another portal to the FBI/CIA ….FB holds so much info about users its getting ridiculous…anyways, enjoy your look at the paper-plane flight!….kali nikta!

  12. Oh, I’m well aware of the ‘purpose’ of fb, after all those were the exact reasons why I hadn’t use it. However it can serve commercial purposes, or so I’m told and a little marketing push might help! :-) a good night to you too!

  13. yes, yes…its quite good for marketing…it can draw more people to your work….but there again, as they say, there’s no such thing as a free lunch…so you have to put a lot of work into FB to get anything of value out of it….

  14. Yes, this is a very common mistake people make about any promotion in the internet. As with anything really “garbage in, garbage out”! Apart from the work hours, you are right, it’s not free! There might have been a time when the internet community was not a broad. Now it’s a complete chaos!!! With that said, I haven’t been able to see the plane video yet! I’m hoping I’ll come round to it during this month!!!
    Happy Friday! :-)

  15. yes, agree totally….FB can be used to pull people to your business website etc etc..but to do that, youve got to draw people to your FB page itself first….which takes time sitting down and posting daily new stuff on it…..its all a very slow process…and meantime the bills keep piling up…as i stand today…i dunno…im just very badly fed up with my status at the moment….cashflow is tight…just about keeping head out of the water….everything points to getting a full time job….but thats one thing i hate, having worked over 20 years in full time jobs….and the politics, the back-stabbing etc that goes with it….:(
