Hot on the heels of my article about 16mm subminiature cameras, there’s been a huge response from readers asking if I have any for sale!
Well, there’s good news and bad news….bad news is I don’t have any at the moment….good news is I’m visiting my friend in the UK soon who has a massive collection of subminiature cameras and who’s willing to off-load some of them to me.
That said, I know there is a strong following for these cameras..their size, uniqueness (!), precision quality etc ensures that, but if you do go ahead and buy one, you must also be prepared to fork out cash for processing and buying the film..unless like me you have your own rudimentary darkroom setup where you can process the film yourself.
There may also be the hassle of buying 16mm film in bulk and reloading it into the tiny cassettes for your submini camera.
So, if you’re prepared to put up with all the above, possibly more, welcome to the world of James Bond, Man from Uncle and so on!
I’m busy preparing another article on this submini subject as we speak…it’ll be posted quite soon, together with an offering of some submini cameras and film.
Meantime, as if you didn’t already realise, it’s getting perilously close to Xmas time, so please be prepared for lulls in my article posting….Xmas is one time when everything else in life takes second place….;)
